Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Isaiah 60:1-3

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

"But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.'" Luke 2:10-11

Today marks the beginning of a Jubilee Year, a special time in the Catholic Church that happens every 25 years. During this year, Pope Francis will open the Holy Door, a powerful symbol of God's mercy and grace. The Holy Door is traditionally opened at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, and its opening marks the start of a year-long period of reflection, renewal, and spiritual growth.
"The Ordinary Jubilee of the Year 2025 is an opportunity for all people to enter into a pilgrimage of hope. Whether we celebrate locally (in our dioceses, cathedrals or Canada’s National Shrines) or make a pilgrimage to Rome, we are called to search for signs of hope and be signs of hope in our families, for our neighbours, the imprisoned, the sick and dying, the young and old."

As we prepare our hearts for the birth of Jesus, let us reflect on the times we gathered as a Catholic community to celebrate our faith.
This year, we held our first Renew and Rejoice Conference, where we came together to connect and learn.
Take a moment to browse our photo gallery, and relive the moments of inspiration, prayer, and fellowship that made this event so special.

"And Mary said:
'My soul glorifies the Lord
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed.'"

In this week's Superintendent Update, Pamela Guilbault reminds us to bring and find joy in each day.
